There will be live music, tasty treats from the kitchen, guided line dancing from Jennifer and Campbell will be hosting the karaoke into the night.
Friday 9th & Saturday 10th May
Jura’s Amateur Dramatics Theatre Company ‘Jam Dram’ have announced their next performance dates. Whilst the play is being kept underwraps and the cast are sworn to secrecy on who is doing what, we know if the last two plays are anything to go by, everyone is in for a real treat.
Historically doors have opened at 7.30pm and drinks are served before and during the performance. Tickets will be able to be purchased before and on the night and I’ll update this information when I have it. Tickets sell out fast!
Saturday May 24th 10.30am
7 summits, 2,370m of climing, 28km of bog, scree and some road.
You might not have got one of the coveted (honestly!) places on this extraordinary fell race but if you’re on the island on Saturday 24th May then you’re in for a real treat as to see the competitors leave Craighouse at the start 10.30am and then gradually return 2-9hrs later is quite something. Its one heck of a race and it all ends in a big ceilidh in the hall that evening. All welcome to cheer on and for the dancing. Children’s races start after the main race.

Jura Craft Fair in the village hall. Local makers and producers selling their wares in the hall, tea coffee and cake served.
Other dates to be announced (usually every Wednesday in the village hall) but Whisky Festival Week – Jura Day there will be one on in the hall on Friday 30th May.

Jura Distilleries Day
Jura Whisky, Lussa Gin and Deer Island Rum
10am-6pm
Free continuous shuttle bus from Jura Ferry (Feolin) to Jura Distillery (Craighouse).

Jura Half Marathon and 10k Race
Set for Saturday 19th July 2025, this annual event has been organised by volunteers!
We are waiting to have the date and event confirmed as new organisers need to be found. But keep your training schedule to this date!!

Ardlussa Sports and Dance
This annual sports event is great fun for all of the family and raises money for local charities. Set in the beautiful gardens of Ardlussa Estate in the north end of the island, everyone is welcome to join in and / or watch.
Events include sack race, potatoe and spoon race, three legged race, egg throwing, hammer throwing, barrel rolling, running, family races and the all important north v south Jura tug of war!
Charity ceilidh in the village hall in the evening if you have any energy left.

Craighouse Village Beach
Events include open water swimming, rowing, kayaking, sailing and a raft race.
Family ceilidh in the evening. Everyone welcome.
26th – 28th September 2025
Craighouse
Three full days of music, dance and performance. Jura’s music festival is in its 31st year.
