Clocks have gone forward, sheep are lambing, thrush are singing, can only mean one thing … the 12 noon ferry is back on Sundays!!!
The Jura Ferry summer timetable comes into effect on 28th March and goes right through to 19th October 2025.
You still have to book the early 06.00 ferry and the late 21.00 ferry but you don’t have to book the last 18.30 ferry on a Sunday now. There’s on more sailing on a Sunday at noon, but them the only differences between winter and summer!!
A return ticket for a car and driver costs £23.20 if buying a return. However a book of 10 tickets, if doing lots of journeys (like the locals do), will save you some money as a return for a car and driver will cost you £14.82.

Is there a timetable for the Jura to Islay crossing – I only seem to be able to access the other way as above. It would be helpful to have the info to help plan our journey. Thanks
Hi Mike, apologies for the slow reply. The timetable changes depending on the time of year, so the safest way is to check the latest timetable on the Argyll and Bute website – https://www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/roads-and-travel/public-transport/timetables-directory/timetable/port-askaig-islay-feolin-jura
I recommend taking a screenshot of the timetable so you have it handy during your visit.
Please tell me where I can book a return ticket from Port Askaig to Jura on the punt for 1 car and 2 people for the 23rd of September around 10.am.
I cant find and online link anywhere?
Regards
Andrew
Hi Andrew, the Jura ferry is not bookable, it is just a turn up and go service. You can buy tickets in advance though on the Argyll and Bute website https://juraferry.argyll-bute.gov.uk/
