The Jura Music Festival 2025 proved once again why it is one of the most-loved Isle of Jura events, bringing together world-class musicians, ceilidhs, and community spirit in a truly unforgettable weekend.

Even cancelled ferries and torrential rain couldn’t dampen the atmosphere. From the opening cocktail party hosted by Deer Island to the Friday night locals’ concert in the hall, the festival showcased the depth of talent on Jura. Schoolchildren, family groups, and the McDonald family ceilidh band set the tone for a celebration rooted in island culture and tradition.

Across the weekend, festivalgoers enjoyed Scottish folk music and community activities. Storytelling sessions, a Highland dance workshop with Louise Welch, and the addition of a new “dram bar” at the cooperage created a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The concerts featured outstanding performances: Amy Laurenson’s piano-led duo, the soulful Kirsteen Harvey, and headline act Dallahan, who brought their internationally acclaimed musicianship to Jura. Saturday night kept the energy high with Atlantic and the much-anticipated return of Pete Smoke and the Roaches. On Sunday, the festival ended on a high with a musical church service, a pipe and drum band parade, and the legendary open mic session. The final fling ceilidh with Culla ensured the music and dancing carried on into the night.
